Who’s in the lab

Including microbiology, organic chemistry, wheat pathology, beer, and wine, Quinton Sturgeon has been in a variety of labs for the last 17 years. He finished his M.S. in Food Science at WSU in 2011 before starting an adventure through wine, beer, and wine again. Along the way he’s worked up and down the West Coast including California, Oregon, and Washington.

Quinton worked as a Research Enologist at E&J Gallo in Modesto, CA where he helped analyze yeast varieties and their fermentation chemistry. From there, he built the lab and QA/QC program at Rogue Ales & Spirits. Most recently, he was the Microbiologist for Ste. Michelle Wine Estates where he updated their procedures, built the Microbiology lab and helped train other technicians.

He started the Tri-Cities Wine Lab to help the local businesses make informed decisions on their processes and provide value through quality analytical testing.
